The Energy of Earth Magic with Dr. Steven Farmer

As I wait to tune in for my virtual interview with Steven Farmer I hear Mockingbird relentlessly calling outside my window. I couldn’t travel to Oregon to meet with Dr. Farmer face-to-face, so instead I drink in the summer imagery that surrounds me. Everything is verdant and warm in this part of Los Angeles up against Griffith Park. Purple Jacaranda strews its blossoms over black pavement, creating a stunning display. I absorb the beauty of life that I’m a part of.
I’m greeted by Steven on a Zoom call for this conversation, and I immediately feel at ease in his calm presence. His decades of skill and wisdom pour forth as he talks about his evolution as a psychospiritual practitioner. We touch on Bear, Deer, and Raccoon, as fellow-beings that lead us to know ourselves better. His work is a beautiful culmination of deep regard for humanity and all its facets of emotion, balanced with reverence and connection to the Earth.
As our time flows by with casual warmth, Steven asks is he could draw a card from his Messages from the Ancestors Oracle Cards, and we are graced with Oak medicine. He speaks of the power and grace that Oak imbues, connecting us to ancestral energy, and how we can form a deeper bond with our lineage through the Earth’s stable and loving vibration. This feels a befitting message as we reflect on the need for wisdom of the elders to lead us forward in a healthy flow of human flourishing.
