The Energy of Harmony with Heather Houston

As I enter the garden that will be the backdrop for my interview with Heather, I’m immediately transported to paradise. An urban oasis in the middle of downtown Santa Cruz, CA the scent of Jasmine fills the air as my eyes dart from plant to plant, visually inspecting the floral display before me. A gorgeous array of familiar Sage, Mallow, and Lavender greets me and also an unusual tropical beauty whom I’ve never met before. This is the essence of Santa Cruz; abundant beauty with a curious being here and there. 

Heather and I sit beneath the largest Pineapple Guava tree I’ve ever seen as our conversation follows a rhythm of love for the natural world and the potency of harmonic resonance. We touch on the art of listening, the power of song, and how using our voice within the container of community shapes our wellbeing. And she even sings a few notes for us as an added treat! 

I am in the presence of a woman who knows how to connect with the vibration of sound and generously shares this loving echo with others. Her work in the world nourishes so many, as the vibrations extend outward and create a symphony of sound healing.
